It felt like an interminably long bus experience today - not sure why, but it really dragged.
As many saw, we were late departing this morning, but made pretty good time once we were on the road. We stopped in Niagara Falls to switch bus drivers, then had lunch at a rest stop somewhere in New York (Arby's, Timmy's, or pizza). We stopped again outside the city where The Office is based (Scranton, I think?), as many of the kids on bus 1 were snapping pictures of road signs. Not sure what for....but hey, we're all tourists, right?
We decided to push through and hit the Jersey Gardens mall before going to the hotel, resulting in 2.5 hours of serious shopping - the most popular purchase I saw seemed to be skateboard decks. We arrived at the hotel around 10 after getting turned around a few times - I kept waiting for Tony and Silvio to accost our bus - but they were nowhere to be found. The rooms weren't booked in any coherent order, so by the time we had things figured out, it was approaching eleven by the time the elevator lineup had dissapated to the point where we could get upstairs. The hotel seems decent, and the rooms are settling in nicely.
We're up at 7:30 for an 8:30 departure for Staten Island - while the mall was fun, the real excitement starts tomorrow.
