Back home!

Well, we're all back home safely.

It was an awesome week, the problems were (mostly) minor, nobody got lost or hurt, and they even let us bring all our students back into the country, although it was a close one for a few minutes.

I can't speak for anyone else being tired yesterday, but I fell asleep reading my daughter a story, and didn't stir until this morning. I'm sure a similar sleep was had by many last night.

For me, the highlight had to be Radio City Music Hall. Tarzan was good, but I felt like they took a rousing, upbeat movie, and added a few Broadway moments. Quite a few. Also, I was in the very back of the theatre, in the last seat they felt they could possibly squeeze in there. I'm a little too large for that, so by the end of the second act I was quite tired of kissing my knees.

We walked quite a few miles, ate a fair bit of junk food (and a tiny bit of healthy as well). Our bus proved to be the cold one, as witnessed at the break by the group of teachers in shorts and t-shirts and then the bus 2 staff, wearing pants and sweatshirts. I actually bought a sweatshirt for the return trip after freezing all the way there.

Our tour guides were fabulous - they knew lots of great things, and connected very well with the kids on the trip, and the staff as well. It was a pleasure working with everyone to have this trip work out so well.

Everyone should thank Ms. Todd. The planning of this trip is an incredible amount of work, and taking it on a monumental task. Well done Ms Todd - it worked out perfectly!

I also have to thank my family, particularly my wife, for putting up with me being gone for a week. Everyone on my bus should be pleased to note that my dog survived, even though we had said if she got skunked again she likely wouldn't. That's five times now. I hope there won't be a sixth.

I really only have one complaint for the parents of bus #2, and it's this. You have sadly neglected your children's education in one key regard. Not one of them was singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody as we returned home yesterday. Not one.

That's just wrong.
